Home made says you’ve been thinking of that special someone. Home made means you know exactly what’s gone into the finished product! So if you’re looking for a gift for someone that’s a little different this year, then look no further. Here are three little home made beauty gifts for Christmas that you’re just going to love!

Indulgent body butter

Sometimes there can be nothing better than taking a long, hot soak in the bath then slathering your skin in an indulgent body butter. And when you make it a home made body butter, you take it to the next level. This is one of our most favourite recipes and it makes a fantastic gift too. All you need to make it is:

  • 110 g of cocoa butter
  • 100 g of coconut oil
  • Two tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Five drops of peppermint essential oil

To make the body butter, you need to first measure out the cocoa butter and coconut oil, then mix them together in a small pyrex bowl. In a small saucepan, brig two inches of water to the boil, then reduce the heat and place the pyrex bowl into the sacepan and melt the oil and butter gently. When it’s done, remove from the heat then allow to cool for a few minutes.

Next you need to stir in the cocoa powder, and add the peppermint oil carefully. Then pop into the fridge for half an hour util the mixture starts to firm but isn’t completely solid. Then take a hand mixer and blend the butter until its mixed thoroughly. Then store in an air tight container- that’s it. If you use a mason jar you can dress it with a ribbon, add a hand made tag and you’re good to go. This is a really beautifully smelling and luxurious body butter, guaranteed to bring a smile to the recipient’s face!

Luxurious body scrub

Another sweet treat for the skin, and such an easy recipe to follow too. During the winter especially it’s important to exfoliate the skin and remove the dry skin cells an reveal the softer skin beneath. This body scrub would make a great accompaniment to the body butter for that extra special someone! All you  need to make it is:

  • 50g of sea salt
  • 50g of ground coffee
  • Two tablespoons of melted coconut oil

To make it you simply mix all the ingredients together until they’re combined. That’s it! Store in a mason jar with a ribbon and voila! It’s best applied to damp skin in the shower so pop a little note in with it and rest assured it will make a beautiful gift.

 All natural lip stain
Christmas season is part season, right? So this cute little lip stain recipe is just perfect for a last minute home made git this season. And the good news is that it’s really easy to make too. All you need is:
  • One teaspoon of coconut oil
  • One teaspoon of either shea butter or cocoa butter
  • One  teaspoon of beeswax pastilles
  • One drop of essential oil for scent
  • One drop red food coloring for a red hue

To make the lip stain, you need to first melt the beeswax and butter with the coconut oil in s glass jar. Do this by placing the jar into a pan of simmering water, and remove when all of the ingredients are melted completely. Remove from the heat and add the food colouring and scents. Then carefully transfer the mixture to a glass container (you can get miniature mason jars that would look really cute for this) and store in a cool place. That’s it. A great little stocking filler, don’t you think?

What are you hoping to find under the tree this year?
