DIY Eco Make-Up Remover Recipe

Did you know that most makeup wipes can take up to 100 years to breakdown in landfill?

And if you decide to flush your makeup wipes down the loo, you’re adding to the sewage problem, of which wet wipes are responsible for 93% of the UK’s sewer blockages (costing the UK almost £100m every year).

Neither of these outcomes are good for the environment or our homes, so it’s safe to say we definitely need an alternative!

One of our very first Eco Warrior bars and still one of our best-sellers to this day is our Sensitive Facial Bar. This bar was created to be suitable for use on even the most sensitive of skin and is a very gentle cleanser making it perfect for use on the face and helpful at removing makeup.

For a guaranteed way to get all your make-up off naturally, try this little DIY recipe and watch your makeup melt away!

Ingredients:

Method: Mix all your ingredients together and store in an airtight container. Make sure to shake thoroughly between each use. Apply onto a cotton pad & take off makeup. Wash your face with warm water after use if you feel any residue.

Don’t forget to use a reusable alternative to cotton wool pads to remove your makeup! Moonie has lots of different reusable cotton rounds available to choose from. Or make your own by cutting up old towels or clothes into small squares (if you want to prevent any further fabric fraying, sew up the edges with a zig-zag stitch)!
