Nail That Post Facial Glow!_LittleSoapCompany.co.ukIf you’ve ever been on the receiving end of a really good facial, you’ll know what we mean when we say that we’re currently obsessed with the post-facial glow trend right now! Facials are one of the best things you can do for your skin, and boy does it show! While we can’t actually bottle up that post-facial glow as such, we do have a few tricks up our sleeves when it comes to emphasising it and holding on to it for as long as possible. Read on to find out how you can nail that post facial glow now!

Don’t scrimp on the facial

First and foremost, make sure you’re getting a decent facial. Yes, this can be done at home, but it’s equally ok to splash out on a salon treatment too. The key here is to make sure that whoever is performing you facial is clued up on your skin and what products are ok to use. Do your research and opt for natural ingredients and you’ll thank us for it.

Three vital steps to holding on to the glow

The actual facial is just the beginning. You want to glow? You’ll have to work for it. Here are our top three tips for holding on to the post-facial glow for longer:

  1. Stay hydrated. During your facial, toxins are forced out of your skin and this really helps with the post-facial glow… so why not keep it up? Staying hydrated by drinking lots of water helps to keep those toxins at bay and encourages the plumping of fine lines too. And on the topic of hydration, it’s important to use hydrating moisturisers on your skin post-facial too. It’s a good idea to leave it at least 24 hours before you wash your face, but after that the products that you use are crucial.
  2. Don’t touch your face! Throughout the course of the day we’re faced with a huge amount of germs, dirt and bacteria and every time we touch our face this is transferred to our skin. Yuk!
  3. Stay out of direct sunlight. This time of year it’s probably not as difficult to stay away from direct sunlight- but that doesn’t mean you can scrimp on the SPF when choosing a decent moisturiser. If you facial involved a more intense procedure, such as microdermabrasion, your skin will be more susceptible to UV rays than normal.

Be consistent with your skincare routine

A facial now and then won’t always bless you with a glowing complexion. You need to put in the time and effort before and after the procedure too, and consistency is key here. Prep as much as you can for that post-facial glow and you won’t be disappointed!

Use make up to emphasise the glow

You may find that you need little to no makeup to achieve that post-facial glow, but if you do want to go for a little more emphasis then why not? Use a really good primer as your base- go for one with highlights for a little extra shimmer. Keep foundation light and use a finishing spray to add a dewy finish.
