Soap making involves the use of caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) which is a highly corrosive substance. You must take care not to spill or splash it. Once the soap has been made and cured the Caustic Soda disperses so the finished soap is safe. Until then the utmost caution should be observed when handling the Caustic Soda both before and during the soap making process.
