Ten Natural Little Tips for Clear Skin

A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just BLOOMS.

We should all be ready to accept our inner beauty, our strengths and our talents. We are all unique individuals with unique experiences that shape this world, whether we realise it or not. To someone, you ARE their world. So why don’t we all hold these same beliefs about ourselves? Why do we scrutinise, criticise and belittle ourselves? More importantly, why don’t we take care of ourselves? Here at Little Soap HQ we’re huge believers in feeding the body and the mind, and we like to do that with as natural ingredients as possible. It’s our way of telling our bodies that we respect the skin we’re in. We care about our bodies. We want what is best for our bodies. So, let’s make 2016 the year you take back control of yourself. Your body, and your mind. And let’s start with your skin. Here are ten natural little tips for clear skin, and the first step towards showing yourself some love.

Cleanse well

Your skin is going to come up against a lot during the average day- pollution, dirt, lotions, make up… you’re going to want to cleanse it well. And do it naturally. Try massaging a teaspoon of organic honey into your face in soft, circular motions for a deep, natural clean. Rinse well with warm water, and pat dry.

Exfoliate

Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells, and leave the face refreshed and soft. We love to use natural ingredients to exfoliate regularly, and there is no better combination than bicarbonate of soda and water. Mix a tablespoon with a little water, to make a paste, and apply to the face in slow circular motions. Rinse well, then pat dry.

Hydrate

Yes, water again. The most natural way to improve your skin! Drink lots of it daily.

Eat well

What we eat is plain to see on our skin. Make sure that your diet is as clean and natural as possible. Steer clear of refined sugars and fats, and eat plenty of berries, nuts, healthy fats (such as avocado, olives and salmon) and lean meats. Ditch the alcohol and avoid caffeine later in the day. Trust us, it works.

Sleep well

Your body needs sleep so that the skin’s cells can renew and repair. It also needs it to recharge, to digest and to develop. If you don’t get enough sleep, you are going to tell the tale in your face.

Avoid stress

We wear our worries on our bodies, and if we’re stressed, our faces tend to tell the world before we’re ready. We frown. We grimace. We grind our teeth. And our skin can suffer in other ways too. Stress can cause a build up of tension that is released with spots or dry patches. Not a good look. Try to take some time each day to de-stress and make sure you do one thing for yourself each day.

Ditch chemical laden products

We’re all in favour of an all natural beauty regime, and once you stop using those nasty products your skin will certainly thank you for it.

Get lots of fresh air

It’s not just your skin that will benefit from plenty of time outside in the great outdoors. The vitamin D is great, but so is the sense of freedom and the exhilaration that being outside can bring.

Pamper your skin

Every now and then, take an afternoon or an evening to yourself and treat your skin to a mini facial. Cleanse, exfoliate, massage. Moisturise and rest. Bliss!

Stay active

Good, regular exercise is wonderful for naturally clear skin. The more the heart pumps blood around your body, the more your skin is able to rebuild and renew. You’ll have better circulation, better peace of mind and a more positive outlook general. And that will definitely show in your face.
