We’ve written before about the wonder that is avocado, but seriously this is such an amazing fruit that we just couldn’t resist a revisit. I don’t think you can ever really pinpoint ALL the ways to use an avocado after all, and personally I’m always discovering new and wonderful ways to put them to use! So without further ado, here are three amazing little uses for avocado, and hopefully they’re all new to you too!

Before we start, we thought a little reminder of the ‘awesomeness’ of avocados was in order. THIS is why we love them so:

AND they taste amazing too… Here are three amazing uses you need to try today!
Use it to make a salad dressing
Salad season is almost upon us, but some of us have never really ditched them. Winter salads are a thing, and we love them. We also love a good dressing, but let’s face it the ones yo buy in the shops can be full of sugar and hidden fats, not to mention the preservatives etc. So. Enter the avocado. This is a salad dressing you are going to love, and I guarantee you won’t want to buy another mass produced bottle again. All you need is:
- Half an avocado
- Half a clove of garlic, crushed,
- The juice from one orange
- One table spoon dijon mustard
- A pinch of salt
Simply blend all the ingredients together and drizzle over your salad. Delicious!
Use it to rejuvenate your face
A probiotic face mask, you say? Why not, we say! All you need is half an avocado and a dollop of greek yogurt. Whip it all together with a fork and apply to the face. This mask can rest for up to twenty minutes, and as it does it will work wonders on your skin. This is a really fantastic anti-inflammatory mask with the ability to calm irritants and fight the effects of pollution- so if you work in a town or city this is a must for you. It’s also a really great mask for hydrating the skin and if you have any left over, dip a carrot stick in and enjoy!
Use the pit to make your smoothie stand out…
Ok, so this is a new one but hear us out! Studies have found that the pit of an avocado is actually the key to it’s super power. Yes, the fruit really is full of nutrients and awesomeness, but the pit is too- three times over! Apparently the avocado pit can hep to aid the digestive system, repair cell damage, lower cholesterol and more. It’s that packed full of nutrients and antioxidants that we’re urging you NOT to throw it away next time you make a smoothie!
Instead, try grating it and sprinkling into your smoothie mixture so that you really reap the benefits of this super food. If you have a powerful blender you can pop it in there too. Avocado pits can also be sprinkled over salads and other dishes to give them a boost, but be warned that if eaten alone it will taste rather bitter. Give it a go!
