Spring clean your skin

Preparation is key, so while we’re not saying that you need to completely ditch your winter skincare regime, you do need a little overhaul at the least. And just like you would spring clean your house at this time of the year, now is the time to give your skin a little attention too, ready for summer and much warmer weather. How to spring clean your skin? Exfoliate, of course! We love a good skin scrub and this recipe is so easy to make. Mix one up today and follow with a really good moisturiser at least once a week.

You need:

  • One tablespoon of olive oil
  • Two tablespoons brown sugar

That’s it! Just mix together to form a paste (you might need more or less sugar) and apply to face using slow circular motions. Bliss.

Eat seasonally

We cannot recommend this highly enough and believe me if you give it a go, making sure that your food is organic at all times, your skin will thank you for it. Eating foods that are freshly in season and produced without chemicals is the only way to go. Avoid processed food wherever you can and if there are ingredients you don’t recognise then don’t buy!

Make sure you catch our monthly eat the seasons blog posts where we tell you about the three super foods you can eat and how to eat them too. There really is no excuse people!

Spend time outdoors

Easy peasy, huh? Ok so the great British spring time might not exactly be that warm or inviting at times, but the days are longer Three Little Changes You Need to Make to Your Beauty Routine this studies have found that just 15 minutes outdoors each day can seriously increase your vitamin D levels. Your beauty regime is going to love being outside! Not only does the fresh air elevate your mood-making you instantly more beautiful, but it also gives your skin chance to breathe. Away from artificial heat or cooling systems, your skin will relish the chance to take in some fresh air and sunshine. Just don’t forget the sun screen when the sun is at it’s hottest.

And while we’re talking sun protection, let’s not forget the hair either. So often we forget to protect our tresses from the stresses of every day life, and in warmer weather this is a definite no no! So try these simple tips this spring:

  • Wear a hat when the sun is at it’s strongest, to prevent sun damage
  • Use sun block specifically designed for hair
  • Apply natural oils to protect, moisturise and replenish. We love avocado, coconut and olive oil for this very reason.
