Regular readers and customers will know only too well that we advocate buying organic wherever possible here at Little Soap- and the same stands when it comes to our beloved pooches too! We firmly believe that organic is best, and we hope that by the end of this post, you will too. Here are three little reasons to buy organic for your dog- in honour of Organic September! As ever, please do let us know your thoughts in the comments, on Facebook and on Instagram too.
Organic pet food is more likely to be ‘cleaner’
One thing we know for sure is that what we eat directly influences our physical and emotional health- and your dog is no different. We strive to avoid additives and non-essential flavourings, colourings and preservatives wherever we can, and we want to do the same when it comes to choosing pet food too.
When you buy organic pet food, you’re choosing the option that is more than likely as close to the pure food you dog would naturally find in the wild. This means that there is less chance that your dog will experience digestive issues and the chances of exposure to toxic chemical is reduced. Organic pet food is also more likely to help promote healthy activity levels, help to regulate your dog’s weight and prolong a healthy and happy life too. I mean, it’s a no-brainer, surely?
Organic toiletries are kinder for your dog
Here at Little soap, we only use natural ingredients when it comes to our Little Beast range– just like our human soaps! We only fragrance with our essential oil (no synthetic fragrances), using english lavender essential oil because we know it has a calming effect on pets, apricot oil to nourish and moisturise, and ground coffee granules to protect against fleas and ticks. Our products are safe to use alongside other flea and tick treatments and all other medicines too.
Why is this important? Because your pets are important! What we put on our skin is absorbed by the body, and it’s essential that we take care to ensure that only the most natural of ingredients come close. Organic toiletries, such as our Little Beast range, are ideal if you want to make sure your dog doesn’t suffer after a grooming session. What’s more, because our our ingredients are totally pure, the products are great for owners/groomers skin too! As with our ‘human’ range, all products are Free From: Detergents, SLS, Alcohol, Parabens, Sorbates, Silicones, Sulphates, Preservatives. Kinder for you, kinder for your dog.
Organic toys and accessories help to reduce your carbon footprint
Our four-legged friends need a good range of entraining toys and other accessories, so why not go organic here too? We’re always on a mission to reduce our carbon footprint, and we know that you are too- this is just another way that we can do that. When you shop for your dog, always opt for the products that use organic materials- for example, beds that are made from sustainable crops such as hemp are a great option, plus it’s produced without little or no pesticide use too.
Look for toys and accessories that are made using recycled materials, and always consider the packaging of the products too.
