When you think of Valentines Day, what springs to mind? Flowers, chocolates, love hearts? Here at Little Soap HQ we like to do things differently though, so this year we thought we’d share a few alternative ways to make the sweetest day of the year a little sweeter than usual. Here are three little treats you can totally fall in love with this Valentines. Enjoy!
It’s easier said than done, but this one is top of the list for a reason. Whether you’re single on Valentines Day, or you’ve been with your partner for longer than you care to remember, it really doesn’t matter. The fact is that if you cannot spare some time to show yourself a little love now and then, how can you expect anyone else to? Self love, self care- whatever you want to call it- is vital for emotional wellbeing and for overall happiness and health. So put it on the top of your list right now!
Self love can come in many forms. It could be an hour in the gym beating a personal best, or an hour curled up with a good book. It could be a manicure, a facial or a spa day. It could be a long soak in the bath and a luxurious hair mask. You know what makes you tick, to make sure you do it.
We highly recommend a splash of our Organic Artisan Pure Rose Geranium Concentrated Bubble bath with a Rose Geranium candle to match. Bliss!
Indulge in some all natural sweet treats
So we couldn’t resist the chocolate part after all! The difference here is that all natural ingredients definitely won’t leave you wishing you hadn’t indulged. Try these truffles for an extra special sweet treat this Valentines…
All you need is
- 170g almond butter
- apron 6 dates, stones removed and soaked in water
- 45g raw cocoa nibs
- 20g hemp seeds

These are so easy to make. Just combine all ingredients with a food processor then roll into balls. Then ENJOY!
Love the skin you’re in
DIY body scrubs are one of our favourite ways to really indulge when we need some pampering, and it’s been a while since we shared a really great recipe with you. Your skin takes a battering this time of year, so why wouldn’t you show it some love this Valentines? To make a super soothing and relaxing lavender and vanilla scrub, you need:
- lavender essential oil
- vanilla essential oil
- one tbsp coconut oil
- 220g brown sugar
- 45g dried lavender buds
Use a pestle and mortar to crush the lavender buds, then mix them with the brown sugar. Add five drops of the lavender oil and five drops of the vanilla oil and mix well. Then stir in the coconut oil and voila! One super luxurious body scrub for the ultimate Valentines treat.
Whatever you decide to do this Valentines, remember this. You are loved. You are special. You are destined for great things. Now go and treat yourself!
