Because its not just about what you eat, this week we’re looking at three amazing little vegan beauty hacks that will change your life. Read on to find out how!
Soothe your hands
Extra washing plus cold weather can equal a disaster for your poor old hands. I don’t know about you, but sore cracked skin is not a look I want to walk around with in 2021! But help is at hand. Try this vegan hack at home:
- Scrub: combine the juice of one lemon with 85g of sugar and 30g of olive or coconut oil. You should have a mixture a little like wet sand. When you’re ready, plunge your hands in there and rub them together gently to exfoliate. *Please skip this step if you have broken skin on your hands!*
- Mask: In a blender, combine one avocado, one tablespoon of olive oil and 2 teaspoons of coconut yogurt. Apply to your hands, and then allow to soak under gloves or a towel. Wear for at least 15 minutes, then rinse and gently dry.
- Moisturise: use one teaspoon of coconut oil to gently massage your hands and allow them to rehydrate.
We promise you, sore hands are a thing of the past with this vegan beauty hack!
Tip: use our Organic bar for sensitive skin for happier hand washes at home.
Tackle under eye circles
Stresses, strains, sleepless nights… we all suffer from time to time and the results aren’t always pretty! Got dark circles under your eyes? get your hands on some fresh mint. Simply crush a few leaves with a pestle and mortar (or the end of a wooden spoon/ rolling pin) and apply them to the under eye area. Lie still. Don’t allow the leaves to touch the eyes. Relax. Enjoy. When you’re done, follow up with
cooling slices of cucumber to reduce puffiness and maybe light a candle to aid in relaxation.
Cue one refreshed and energetic looking you- and lots of requests from friends on just what is your secret?!
Shiny hair rescue
Winter doesn’t do a lot for the condition of our hair, especially when we’re spending more time indoors with central heating blasting out… so we need something that is going to rescue our locks. One word: apple cider vinegar. It’s delicious on salads, but our hair will literally eat it up too. All you need to do is apply to hair after shampooing, and allow to soak in for around 15 minutes. Rinse well and enjoy shiner, stronger hair. This is honestly one of our most favourite vegan beauty hacks of all time- try it!
