What to Expect

The Little Soap Workshop

The Little Workshop in Broadway can comfortably cater for up to six students at a time though most students tend to come on their own for complete 1 to 1 tuition or bring a friend or two to bounce ideas off and share the cost of the day with…

Come for a 1-on-1 or bring a pal or a big gang?

We also do Staff Away Days or Team Building or an alternative girlie day out: a soapy hen day making wedding favours together, or a society away day (we can cater for up to 15 to offer a demo morning or afternoon) – whatever the mix you bring, we guarantee you a great fun day out where you will all learn a new skill and go home laden with your own creations!

The only thing we ask is we only teach KNOWN groups which you organise and bring together – to us the dynamic is better and trying to organise dates between various students fast turned us into PAs and that isn’t what Little Soap Company is about – we do the courses because we have a fab workshop that’s crying out to be utilised on days we’re not in there, we adore the lifestyle, love teaching eager new soap makers and helping to spread the natural soap word…. we don’t do courses on set days, packing people in for courses sake… that’s not us.

Course dates & structure of the day

Little Soap School days are run on days that suit both you and us throughout the year on weekdays. Your day is just that – YOURS – we don’t do group sessions, unless you organise a friend or two or three to join you. Simply email us or call us to discuss your ideal dates and we’ll go from there…

Courses usually run from 10.30-4pm, however, it is your day and students come from across the UK (and France, Portugal, Iceland, America, Australia, Lebanon, Tanzania, Holland, Spain and Nigeria to date…) to attend, so naturally we will time the course around you and your plane, train or automobile!  So if you want to miss rush hour and are driving a distance the same day then let us know in advance and we can start at 10 or 11am and finish an hour later – if you’re an early bird or have children to pick up then let’s start at 8.30 or 9am and just finish a bit earlier…. it’s a luxurious day for you to chill out and let your hair down and we want you to arrive and leave relaxed. Simple! All we ask is this is mentioned upon booking so it’s all in the diary…

So, whatever time you arrange to arrive – there will be award winning and locally made M’Hencha cake (or gluten free croissants) with tea or coffee awaiting you… we’ll start with a chat around the Little kitchen table about the day ahead and what you want from the day. We will go through the theory part (but not too much – we are hands on and we will be itching to get in the workshop a few steps away – as we are sure you will be too!). We will explore and go through all the raw ingredients that can be used to make soap, then a more tactile touch, feel and smell of the delicious oils and butters as we talk you through and make a batch of our Artisan soap: stockpots, measuring tubes, thermometers the lot – you’ll see our secrets before your eyes! Relax, watch and ask lots of questions as we go through the process cover to cover…. depending on the start time – some may get to make their own first little batch before lunch or save it for when you get back. Either way, you have an hour off to wander up the High Street for lunch. There are so many wonderful eateries ranging from tearoomscafes, the deli, and Number 32posh fish and chips, to several English pubs  (the Visit Broadway website shows them all). Then it’s back to the workshop where the afternoon is yours to make and make and make batches to your hearts delight….!  We will then finish with tea and a chocolate brownie from another award winning local company!, The Cotwold Larder, before you head home with all your own-made goodies!

If booking the Creams & Balms or Perfumery course the day follows a similar format.
