Three Little all Natural Face Masks for Glowing Skin_LittleSoapCompany.co.ukThyme and Honey Mask

Thyme and honey are a wonderful combination! We’ve written extensively about honey before, but thyme may be a new one for some of you! The reason why its such a fabulous ingredient here is due to its powerful antibacterial and anti-acne properties. Thyme is also wonderful at overall maintenance of skin health, thanks again to its ability to eliminate bacteria that can cause skin problems for many. It even has anti fungal properties so can be used on other areas- but today we’re focusing on the face!

To make the mask, you need:

  • One teaspoon of dried thyme leaves
  • Half a teaspoon of French green clay
  • Half  to one teaspoon of raw honey
  • A quarter of a teaspoon of tamanu oil

To make the mask, you need to first grind up the thyme leaves. This can be done either by hand, using a pestle and mortar, or you can use an electric coffee grinder or something similar. When you’ve done that, sift the leaves through a fine mesh strainer. You should be left with around half a teaspoon of thyme powder.

Next, stir the thyme powder and clay in a small bowl and add the honey and oil until you have a thick paste. That’s it! You have your mask. To apply, use your fingers to spread it over the face liberally, and leave on for 5-10 minutes. You need fairly hot water to remove it (not too hot though!) and a cloth which you’ll soak before laying over your face for around 30 seconds. This will soften the mask so that it can be wiped off. Repeat if necessary. This is a beautiful mask, especially if your skin is starting to break out with the change in weather.

Banana and Honey Mask

Another honey mask! Well, it is fantastic for soothing and moisturising the skin, and this one not only sounds delicious but is great for dry skin too.

All you need is:

  • One banana
  • A quarter of a cup of oats
  • Two tablespoons of honey
  • One tablespoon of coconut oil

To make the mask, add all the ingredients to a food processor and blend until smooth. Then transfer into a container, seal and leave in the fridge for up to 30 minutes until cool.

Then wash your face, pat dry, and  apply the mask. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing off gently with warm water. Follow with a gorgeous moisturiser for super soft skin.

  • 60ml full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • Half a teaspoon of honey
  • 20 drops of wheat germ oil

To make the mask, add all the ingredients one at a time to the cream cheese (you can soften this before hand with a fork) and spread onto the face gently.
