Why Orange Blossom?

Orange blossom has a rich history, and for centuries we’ve been enchanted by its energy, its intensity -  and its blooming delightful aroma! It’s hard to pinpoint just one reason why we chose it to fragrance one of our best-selling (and best-smelling!) soap bars...

This bar is refreshing and rejuvenating - thanks to the uplifting and revitalising properties of orange blossom. This bar is packed with antioxidants (thanks to naturally occurring vitamin C, helping to combat free radicals and support skin health) and antibacterial properties - making it a natural for cleansing and purifying the skin. This bar is hydrating and nourishing - helping to maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance.

See, we told you this would be your next Little Soap indulgence!

Taking a deep dive into the ingredients

So, that’s our why. Now let’s look at the ingredients in our Organic Orange Blossom Soap bar!

We’ve taken care to combine a luxurious blend of natural and organic ingredients, with our usual commitment to absolutely no detergents, SLS, sulphates, alcohol, parabens, sorbates, silicones or synthetic preservatives. As ever, this is a gentle soap bar, with powerful benefits! So let’s dive in.

We use this ingredient to provide a rich, creamy lather. Palm oil also ensures our Organic Orange Blossom soap bar is not only effective at cleaning, but it will last longer too, as it helps to produce a firmer bar.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is known for its deep moisturising properties, helping to nourish and protect the skin against dryness. It's also naturally antibacterial and has anti-fungal properties too, plus it's excellent at cleaning and adds to the bar’s rich and creamy lather. Win-win!

Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Sweet orange essential oil gives our soap bar a beautifully refreshing and uplifting scent, along with natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties to soothe and rejuvenate the skin.

Rose Essential Oil

We LOVE the delicate floral aroma of rose essential oil - and its hydrating and anti-ageing properties aren’t bad either! We included this ingredient to help soothe irritated skin and to improve softness overall.

Neroli Essential Oil

Extracted from orange blossoms, Neroli essential oil gives this bar a gorgeous sweet fragrance, but don’t be fooled into thinking that's all it does. Neroli essential oil is also known to have regenerative properties that promote skin cell renewal - meaning it can help to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks.

Why we share our ingredients

Here at Little Soap Company, we’ve always prided ourselves on being transparent about our ingredients. We promise to always ensure every single component of our soap is carefully selected for not just its quality, but for its benefits too. We’ll always be commuted to using only natural fragrances and you can always reach out to us if there are any ingredients you’re not sure about.

What to look for on an ingredients list

We get it. Ingredients lists can be confusing, and even our ingredients sometimes sound a little 'chemically'. But as mentioned above, if there are any ingredients in our products that you're not sure about, just ask. We're always happy to explain! A few of the more difficult-to-interpret ingredients you might come across at Little Soap include: Benzyl Benzoate - this is an organic compound that we use as a preservative; Cinnamyl Alcohol - a naturally occurring compound found in cinnamon, which adds to the fragrance of our soap.

Outside of our own products, the ingredients you should look out for (and avoid), include: Parabens - used as a preservative, known to mess with hormone balance; Sodium Lauryl Sulphate - also known as SLS, is a chemical used commonly to create a foam, and similar ingredients include Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS); Triclosan - also known as TCS, this is used as an antimicrobial agent; animal ingredients - such as honey, goat's milk, tallow (animal fat), and lanolin (from sheep wool). Again, get in touch if you're not sure what to look out for and avoid!
