There have been reports lately that state breakfast is not the be all and end all of meals after all, so we thought it only fair to state our stance on this. Studies have indeed found that those who skip breakfast tend to make poorer food choices throughout the rest of the day, for a variety of reasons. Namely because they have failed to set their metabolism early in the day. This leads not only to a sluggish metabolism, but also an increase in appetite. This increase in appetite forces us to crave the foods we wouldn't normally go for, and our blood sugars drops too, which is another reason why we start to reach for sugary, stodgy snacks rather than wholesome meals. Further studies have found that those who do not skip breakfast tend to eat more healthily all day, and find it easier to lose weight too. Their metabolism tends to work a lot more efficiently too so it really is a no brainer. Breakfast is important!

Overnight Oats
It couldn't be easier to be prepared in the morning, with a nutritious and delicious meal. All you need is five minutes the night before and believe me you will be so glad you took the time! Overnight oats are so easy to make and there are so many ways that you can enjoy them. Basically you are soaking oats overnight so that in the morning they are ready to eat without any fuss. It's what you soak them in and what you add to the mix that makes all the difference! Here are three of our favourite combinations:
- Half a cup of rolled oats
- Half a cup of almond milk
- Quarter of a cup of full fat Greek yogurt
- One teaspoon chia seeds
- Vanilla
- A pinch of sea salt
