All of our products are vegan and certified cruelty free and we strive to spread the word whenever we can- to guide, educate and advise those who are looking to make changes. We promise no judgement- if you're not ready, that's cool. But if you are, we're more than happy to share the tips and tricks we've learnt along the way! This week we're looking at the ways in which Veganism plays a role at Little Soap as a brand and why being vegan is so important to us.

Why Veganism is central to Little Soap

Veganims is about more than just what you eat. It's a lifestyle, a way of living and of thinking that incorporates everything we do. The Vegan Society describes it: "Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals." Loyal Little Soap customers will already know that this philosophy is- and always will be- at the heart of the we do. Our products are never tested on animals and we never ever support cruelty or exploitation of animals in any way. We proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria and our supplier monitoring system is also open to independent audit. We want to ensure our customers receive and benefit from, genuine cruelty free, 100% natural soap.

It's easy to make changes to your home that incorporate the vegan philosophies we hold so strongly. We always start with the bathroom! Swap out the products that are not vegan friendly and stock up on those that are. But please note we are not advising you simply throw away the products you've already bought. Reducing waste should always be a priority- so use up what you have, and simply replace with vegan friendly alternatives when you're ready. Hint: shop Little Soap for guaranteed vegan friendly goodies! The kitchen is another room where you can easily make changes to vegan products- food and cleaning materials etc. Any non-vegan food you are not wanting to consume you can donate rather than throw away. Get used to reading labels and make it your life mission to understand ingredients in the foods that you eat.

What to eat is often the most confusing and daunting prospect of becoming vegan. The good news it that these days there are so many vegan options in the supermarket for you to choose from- but choose wisely. Just because it says vegan on the label, it doesn't mean it is necessarily healthy- a common misconception. Vegan junk food is a real thing! Here at Little Soap we prefer to cook from scratch so that we know exactly what is going in to our food and what isn't.
