Dry Skin Brushing
We're huge fans of dry skin brushing here at Little Soap HQ, and there are so many reasons why you should be too! Dry skin brushing helps to increase the circulation to the skin (which can reduce the appearance of cellulite) and helps the body to shed dead skin cells, encourage new cell renewal and results in smoother, glowing skin overall. Not only that, but dry skin brushing can help to improve vascular blood circulation, which means that toxins are released and the body is able to run more effectively. Muscle tone is improved, the nervous system is rejuvenated and pores are cleated to allow the skin to absorb more nutrients. Oh, and did we mention that dry skin brushing can give you a more even fat distribution around the body, improving appearance and doing wonders for boosting your self confidence?
How to do it:
Before you shower step into the bath tub, take five minutes to add in a dry skin brushing routine. Start with gentle circular upward motions, beginning at the ankles and moving into longer, smoother strokes. From the ankles, move on to lower legs, thighs, stomach, back and arms. Always direct movements towards the heart until you reach the back- instead, you want to brush from the neck down to the lower back. Work slowly around the body, and don't press too hard or brush over inflamed or sore skin. When you've finished, jump in the shower to wash the dead skin cells away, and finish off with a good whole body moisturiser.
Not just a summer staple, but one we definitely feel the need to remind you about since it has so many amazing benefits! Coconut oil is one of the most versatile items you can have in the home, and there are so many reasons why it should be top of your shopping list. From acting as a superb baseline for sunscreen, to soothing and softening dry or inflamed skin, to hydrating the hair and to helping the body to metabolise food faster, coconut oil is a must have this summer!`
