What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Ever wondered what all the little symbols mean on our website and packaging? Read on to find out more about the accreditations we’ve earned here at Little Soap.

Why do you need to know?

Does it even matter what logos or symbols we print on our packaging and display on our website? Yes, yes, YES. It matters a lot. Not only because we worked hard to achieve them, but because it tells you a lot about who we are and how we operate as a business. And if you’re spending your hard-earned money on our products, we believe you should know as much about us as possible.

Being transparent has always been important. We want you to ask questions. We want you to understand where we source our ingredients and why. We want you to have the knowledge you need to make an informed choice about the products you buy and the impact they have on your body and on the planet.

And if the information you’re looking for isn’t immediately obvious, drop us a line. We’re always happy to answer questions – in fact, we actively encourage it!

What do our accreditations mean?

We’re super proud of everything we’ve achieved so far at Little Soap, but displaying the logos isn’t just about blowing our own trumpet. It’s about you, the consumer. Giving you the power to choose between us and another brand that might offer similar services. It’s about giving you the power to make an informed choice that works best for you.

So what do our accreditations mean, and why do we want you to know about them?

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Carbon Neutral Britain

We’re facing a climate crisis, and for many of us this fact alone influences which brands we support and the products we choose to buy. It’s the responsibility of us all to act now to protect our planet, which is why we’re proud to be carbon neutral.

The Carbon Neutral Britain logo tells you that we do our best to keep our carbon emissions as low as possible. We actually also offset our emissions so that we can be not just carbon neutral, but carbon negative!

What this means for you: when you shop with us, you’re buying a product that offers a sustainable alternative that truly gives back more than what we take from the planet.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Prevented Ocean Plastic™

This is a special logo that tells you that the only plastic we use here at Little Soap has been sourced from a Prevented Ocean Plastic™ material or packaging partner. So what does that mean?

Prevented Ocean Plastic™ as an organisation has, to date, collected over two billion plastic bottles and turned them into new products. They turn this waste into high-quality, recycled plastic for businesses to use. It’s fully traceable and supports local communities whilst driving long-term environmental solutions.

This means that if we use plastic here at Little Soap, you know it’s been sourced via Prevented Ocean Plastic™.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Cruelty Free

We love our leaping bunny logo. We believe that all beauty should be cruelty-free, and that’s why we always have been. That’s why we’re so proud of our Cruelty Free International logo.

It means we’ve met the cruelty-free standards which are over and above legal requirements. It means all of our own brand cosmetic and personal care are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognised gold standard for cruelty-free products.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Vegan

You’re probably already familiar with the logo, and if you’re a regular then you’ll know we’re super proud of our vegan soaps. It’s a familiar logo that tells you all of our products are vegan and registered by The Vegan Society

So you can rest assured that our ingredients, production and packaging are all 100% vegan friendly. We only ever use natural ingredients and we will never compromise vegan values.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Certified B Corp

Being part of the B Corp family means the world to us. It means we’re part of a group of businesses that put the wellbeing of the world before profit. It means that every single part of our business has been assessed to make sure that we’re doing our best for the planet, our people, and YOU.

By displaying the B Corp certified logo, we’re recognising that we must be the change we seek in the world. We believe that all businesses ought to be conducted as if people and place matter. That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

RSPO- Certified Sustainable Palm Oil

We’ve been fairly vocal about the fact we’re so proud to use RSPO sustainable palm in some recipes, and we’re often met with surprise by when we are. It’s widely known that palm oil production has been at the centre of deforestation, so why do we use it in our products? The answer is complex, but boils down to one simple reason: because we believe (passionately) in the need to NOT boycott palm oil.

The issue is deforestation, not palm. Without palm, deforestation would still exist- and on a far larger scale, due to the fact that palm is a faster yield that requires less space. Why? Because the local workers still need to earn a living. They cannot simply stop working.

Boycotting palm oil would lead to a huge rise in demand for land, to grow other vegetable oil crops to replace it. This could lead to the loss of even more forests. In turn, the price of palm oil would drop, increasing demand in other areas of the world and for uses such as biofuels.

We’re proud to use only organic, certified sustainable palm oil in our products- palm oil which has been produced without harming the rainforests.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Queens Award for Enterprise

A rather special logo! Little Soap was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation for our Eco Warrior range back in 2022, and safe to say we’re all still a little giddy about it!

The Queen’s Award has been running since 1965, recognising the achievements of amazing British businesses- and being given the award for innovation is truly such an honour. It’s a fantastic recognition of the dedication of the whole team here at Little Soap, and of the passion we all have towards our ongoing innovation in plastic-free products. We’re redefining the bathroom, helping not only your skin but the planet too.

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Buy Women Built

The name might be self-explanatory, but let us shed a little more light on this incredible logo. It means a lot to us, being female-founded, female-led and fiercely proud of it!

Buy Women Built began with a powerful tweet: “Not everyone can invest in female founders. Not everyone can mentor a female founder, but we can all buy from them.” And from that, Buy Women Built was born. It’s a community that works together to showcase, support and lift female-founded British brands. We join forces to help nurture new female-led brands, to inspire the creators of tomorrow, and to encourage more girls to dream big, aim high and just go for it!

Being part of BWB is precious to us- being part of something which is working towards a fairer, stronger society is amazing!

What Do Our Accreditations Mean?

Made in Britain

Probably self-explanatory, but we are proudly made in Britain! And this logo shows you that we’re members of the Made in Britain community too. This not-for-profit organisation brings together the British manufacturing community, and we comply with their code of conduct, which aims to hold us to the highest of standards.

The Made in Britain logo shows you that all of our products, from start to finish are produced in Britain, using sustainable manufacturing that adheres to all regulations set out by the government. It shows you that we conduct business in a fair and ethical way. It shows you that we care about our community and the well-being of Britain.
