Why groom a beard?
So beards need trimming now and then, of course- but do you actually need to groom them too? Well, yes. The hair on your face is different to the hair on your head, and the same goes for your skin too. Your skincare routine needs to take into consideration the different needs of your face vs your body- even if that skin is hiding beneath the hair.
Regular beard grooming is essential for not only keeping your beard looking neat and tidy, but for maintaining its health, and the health of your skin too.
Using Eco Warrior as part of your grooming routine
Washing your facial hair is probably the number one most important part of your beard grooming routine, but you can’t just use any old shampoo to get the job done. Remember that your facial hair has different needs, so ordinary shampoo will not only leave your beard dry and frizzy, but it will irritate the skin underneath too.
So can the Eco Warrior Men’s Edit Shampoo Bar be used to wash facial hair? Actually, yes.
Unlike normal shampoo, our bar doesn’t contain any nasty chemicals or additives that can be harmful to facial hair or delicate skin. Ok, so we’re not claiming to be beard experts, but we know of some pretty great brands out there that might be. Here are our top three brands we think you should check out for tips:
Peace With the Wild
This is a fab little brand that has a great range for beard care, with little gems such as Cedarwood Beard Balm and Sandalwood Beard Oil. And according to Peace With the Wild, one item that you can’t live without when it comes to beard grooming is a good quality comb, specially designed to work through facial hair of all lengths.
Their Natural Beard Kit contains a small one that should be a staple in your grooming routine. We recommend using this after washing, and in between to keep things neat and tidy.
Mr Masey
Mr Masey has everything you need for beard maintenance, and it’s all vegan and cruelty free too. We particularly like the look of their Coffee and Biccies Beard Oil (such a great name!) and their Magnificent Moustache and Beard Wax looks great too.
