We’ve got an exciting announcement! As the title of this posts suggests, Little Soap is now a certified B Corporation! We’re beyond thrilled and so proud to be able to share this news with you- what a way to brighten a somewhat dismal day! We thought we’d use this week’s post to tell you a little more about what a B Corporation is, and why it means so much to us.
What is a B Corporation?
Put simply, a certified B Corporation is a business that has met “the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose.” (B Corporation)
B Corporations are businesses that are making changes to alter the way we view success in business. They’re building more inclusive and sustainable economies and using their power to make positive changes for employees, communities and the environment. They’re creating more jobs of high quality and are helping to create communities that are aspiring to the same values.
So you can see why we are so very proud to be certified as a B Corporation!
The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence
We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good. This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation – the B Corporation – which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders. We’ve always strived to bring inclusivity to all that we do. Little Soap was born of the desire to ensure that natural soap could be accessible to all, and we’ve never wavered in that belief. We’ve also always been committed to ensuring that we are continually measuring and assessing our own environmental and social impact. We’re always transparent in all that we do and we’re always happy to answer any questions you may have too.
