Made in the UK: Little Soap on Sustainability at the Spring Fair

Here at Little Soap, we’re proud to manufacture all our products in the UK. We’re proud to be able to create British jobs, helping to boost the British economy. It means a lot to us- that’s why we’re very proud members of Made in Britain

On Sunday 5th February, we’ll be speaking on behalf of Made in Britain, as part of the Sustainability Panel at the Spring Fair. So, who are Made in Britain and what are we going to be talking about? Read on to find out…

Who are Made in Britain?

Made in Britain are a not-for-profit organisation designed to support British Manufacturers on a global level. They do amazing work, collaborating with UK trade bodies, UK government departments and the UK media to fully support skilled jobs, responsible businesses and sustainable growth here on British soil.

For Little Soap, being members of Made in Britain means that you, our customers, can be sure that we’re adhering to the highest of manufacturing standards. 100% of our finished product is made here in the UK- of that you can be certain.

Why UK manufacturing is so important

Manufacturing makes up 10% of the UK’s economy and employs 2.6 million people across the country. Put simply, it helps to create more jobs right here, in our own communities. It supports the training of skilled workers and boosts our economy, benefiting our universities, our infrastructure and our industries.

Made in the UK: Little Soap on Sustainability at the Spring Fair

For us at Little Soap, keeping our manufacturing in the UK means that we spend less on importing, and we can guarantee that our products can get to you more quickly and more efficiently. Our products are of a higher quality, and- importantly- we can keep our carbon footprint lower too.

We’re more than proud to be one of the fastest growing companies in the toiletry sector, but we have also always been determined to be ethical too. We gained B Corp certification back in 2019 and since then, we’ve never looked back. And with the Green Growth sustainability programme offered by Made in Britain, there’s still more we can do- and will do.

About the Sustainability Panel

The Spring Fair takes place every year at Birmingham NEC. Its always a really lovely event, and we’re so thrilled to be speaking as part of the Sustainability Panel on behalf of Made in Britain! We’ll be there alongside Dartington Crystal global commercial director, Warren Gell, Harry Thompson from the Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company and John Pearce, CEO of Made in Britain.

Our panel is all about delivering the sustainability message- so that we can reach buyers, retailers and consumers- and so that we can highlight the many ways in which we as a brand are striving to do our best to ensure a more sustainable and ethical future for all. Well be talking about sourcing materials, manufacturing, final products and packaging- and we’ll be celebrating the innovative and exciting changes that brands are implementing here in the UK too.

Catch us at the Spring Fair February 5th 2023

If you’re attending the Spring Fair, make sure you head to our panel at 1.20pm, on Sunday 5th February for our slot. We can’t wait to really get down to it, discussing the ways that we can improve our messaging around sustainability, how we can demand more businesses step up to do more, and how we can all understand more about the impact of our own actions when it comes to the things we buy.
